Crawling...ugh

So today is the day... it is time to babyproof. Cody started crawling. While it is so much fun to see him progress, I must admit I am not ready for this. Funny he picked the day the girls are off to their 1st day of school.

1st day of school

I was so sad to have to send off my girls to school today. I usually am pushing them out the door, but this year summer flew by. The day started out kind of rough... Bria could not get to sleep the night before. She was actually too excited for school, but not being able to sleep was stressing her out. I think she finally fell asleep at 3am. Poor thing! I let her sleep in as long as I could. Alexi had a bad hair day... and she was very nervous for her first day of high school. I was trying to curl her hair and get breakfast for her to eat on the way, since her ride was honking for her. It all ended up going great for them. Bria was not as tired throughout the day as she had expected to be and Alexi's first day of high school was not all that bad.

Finally, the tooth has arrived!

We have been waiting and waiting for Cody's first tooth to appear. He has been chewing and drooling for months now. Every grumpy day, I blamed it on the tooth (that never came.) Finally on Monday it showed its face.

Adoption finalization

We had an amazing weekend a few weeks ago. Fri, July 30th was our adoption finalization, then Sun. Aug 1st we were able to bless Cody, and Monday, Aug. 2nd we were sealed in the Salt Lake temple. What an absolutely beautiful amazing experience! We have some pictures coming of our temple sealing, but here are some pictures of the finalization. Our dear friends, John & Julie Peterson were able to come with us too!

6 months old...

We are so excited that Cody is 6 months old. We begin a whirlwind of fun the next few weeks... Adoption finalization, blessing and our temple sealing. To top it all off our family and closest friends will all be here to celebrate with us.

5 months...

I am finally getting around to posting Cody's 5 month pictures... He is growing like crazy and is so much fun. He loves to go which is a good thing since our family is always on the go! I took him to the doctor last week and he is now just over 14 lbs... He is in the 10th percentile on weight, but the 50th percentile on height and head size.

He's 4 months!

4 months old... phew where does the time go? He is so much fun...giggling, talking, playing. He loves to be the center of attention.

Tulip Festival!

A few weeks ago we went to the tulip festival. It is always amazing. This year the the tulips were pretty damaged due to a hailstorm the day before. We still had a great time!

We can't believe Cody is 3 months old!

Ballroom, ballroom, ballroom

Alexi and Bria have been working so hard with their ballroom. Over the past few weeks, they both have done so well. We are so proud of them and their accomplishments.... At the last competition we attended in Idaho Falls, ID, Bria and her partner Tanner won 6 1st place finishes - 1st in every event they entered. Alexi and her partner Nate won 1st in standard and 3rd in latin. WOW! Great job...

1st day of church

Today we all went together as a family to church for the 1st time since Cody was born... yes-he was excited to go-LOL

9 1/2 lbs!

We took Cody to the doctor this past week because he caught a cold and cough and also needed his 2 month checkup. Thankfully he was not too sick and is doing so much better now. While he was there, he got his 2 month shots-so sad... He is still a little guy, but has grown so much...
22 inches long (25th percentile)
9 lbs 8 oz (15th percentile)

He is so much fun right now. He loves to talk with lots of oohs and cooing. He is smiling a lot now. He loves to lay on his back and kick his feet. More than anything he just loves to be talked to and held.

Cody - 1 month old

Cody starting losing his hair about 2 weeks ago. He now has hair only around the back of his head. We think it is pretty cute. LOL

Finally-we were able to get some pictures of Cody with his eyes open. He is such a good baby and obviously the center of our household...

Cody is 2 weeks old!

Today Cody is 2 weeks old. We went to the doctor and he is doing great! He now weighs 6 lbs 5 oz and is 20 inches long. We took pictures to celebrate, but he was a little stink and refused to open his eyes. We gave up when we finally got an "eyes open" picture after letting him suck on his binky, then quickly pulling it out before he figured it out and threw a fit. Good times...

It's all about Cody...

We are all so enthralled with baby Cody. He is beautiful and such a blessing to our home. He has only been home a week and it feels like he has been a part of our family forever.

Bringing Cody home...

On Thursday, January 7th we were able to bring Cody home. We came home to a decorated house (thanks Julie!) What a great day!

Finally after 10 years of waiting, we were blessed with our baby boy. Through the miracle of adoption, Cody Benjamin Michael was born January 5, 2010 at 7:33am. He weighed 5 lbs 9oz, was 19 inches long and completely healthy! He is our miracle baby boy.
